What are Club Nights?
Albany Creek Swim Club conducts club nights for it's members on Wednesday evenings throughout the swimming season. The purpose of these nights is to introduce a swimmer to a competitive environment while enjoying the social aspect with family and friends. Club Nights commence at 6:30pm sharp and conclude around 8:00pm. Club nights are weekly before the Christmas break and fornightly after the Christmas break. How do I get started with Club Nights?
If you would like to try out on Club Nights you are welcome to come along and have “2 Free Club Nights” – this means you can swim in the 4 races at Club Night before paying your membership fees to join the Club. How do I enter Club Nights and other swimming competitions?
Once you have decided to become a member of the Albany Creek Swimming Club, you will then be able to access your Swim Central account to enter Club Nights and other Swimming Competitions. Simply follow this diagram for instructions on how to enter:

What is the next step of competition after Club Nights?
When swimmers are confident competing at Club Nights they may like to move onto Regional Carnivals or Swim Meets. These meets are conducted by other Swim Clubs within the Brisbane region and are held throughout the year. Meets that Albany Creek Swim Club swimmers are eligible to attend are listed on the Events Page and notices of upcoming meets are shared through our Members email distribution list. Remember to always chat to your swimming coach to find out what events you should compete in and what competitions would best suit you.
What are the swimming squad training times for my child?

How do I find my childs times?
Results Central lists swimmer times for LC and SC events in all strokes, and can be accessed online. The Meet Mobile App is also a great way to follow live results on your device or mobile phone.

Why does my child have to be registered with Swimming QLD?
All swimmers must be registered with Swimming QLD to be covered by our Public Liabilty policy. This includes competitive swimmers competing under Albany Creek as well as non competitive swimmers. Parents must also register with Swimming QLD if engaging in any club event (ie fundraising, timeleeping etc).
What is Swim Central
Proudly created by Swimming Australia and its member organisations, Swim Central is a new bespoke operating system for clubs and swimmers. From membership details and event activity, to coach accreditation and managing funds, everything you need is at your fingertips via the online portal.
With Swim Central replacing My Swim Results (in WA) and ClubLANE, MyLANE and Results Central (elsewhere), the program is currently being rolled out across certain states, with full implementation set to be complete by the end of June 2019.

Travel subsidies and Grants If you wish to apply for a grant to assist with costs for your son or daughter, these are some links 1. YAAPS (Young Athletes Assistance Program) https://www.qld.gov.au/youth/sport-recreation-leisure/young-athlete-assistance-program/ 2. Future State Greats http://www.futurestategreats.com.au/how-to-apply/ 3. Australian Sports Commission - Local Sporting Champions The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young sportsmen and women aged 12-18. Available to athletes, coaches, umpires and referees. Must complete and submit application prior to the nominated championship commencing. Funding of up to $500 https://www.ausport.gov.au/ais/grants_and_funding/local_sporting_champions 4. Young Athletes Travel Subsidy The Young Athletes Travel Subsidy provides financial assistance through three event tiers and supports attendance by athletes and officials up to 18 years old at specific state, national and international events. Funding provided: International $600, National $400, State $200 Young people must travel at least 250km to attend the championship event, with applications only accepted after attending the event.
